I am officially packed and ready to go, I think. It has been a few years since I trudged off into the wilderness with a bunch of youngsters. I am not even sure what all to pack. Therefore, I got a bit of everything I could possibly fit in my bag. I figure extra clothes and lots of warm ones for playing in the fresh snow. Then of course there is the Bible and notebook for the memorable lesson times that I hope to share with my girls. My sleeping bag and a pillow since I can't live without one and with the small amount of sleep I will be getting I need all the help I can get. Sleep isn't even scheduled until after 10:30! Man, am I an old lady or what! I am going to need some major caffeine. Do you think Camp Lebanon has a Caribou down the road? That would be a worthwhile morning run!
Do girls at the age of fifth and sixth grade know better than to throw all my underwear out in the snow while I am sleeping?! These are things I have pondered when packing. I remember the days of pine cones and frogs, a one time snake, in chaperon sleeping bags. I am too old to find those ideas funny I am afraid.
I am excited to see how camp will change the lives of my kids and open up new and deeper relationships among us. I am excited to see what God has planned and pray that He will be glorified by our time away. Heaven help us if they throw me in a snowbank though. They might find their underwear in a snowbank come morning!
If you are a praying person send up a few words for this old lady!

I never thought of playing pranks on other people (especially counselors!) and if I had thought of it, I would never have dared. Good luck! I think you're very brave, and very dedicated to leave your family for a weekend. On behalf of all of us NOT going, thank you!
