My Little Forward Thinker
Seth has grown so fast! I know every parent thinks the same thing, but that doesn't make it any less shocking does it?! Now that he has a wider vocabulary and most people can understand him we have more and more of those funny moments in conversation. Here are a few as of late...
Last night while I had Seth in the bathtub I thanked him for being such a great helper with the daycare kids we watch. The conversation ended like this:
Mom: "You are going to be such a great big brother some day!"
Seth: "When I big I going to drive dump truck and give Baby Claire a ride."
Mom: trying to hold back the laugh, but all smiles, "Can I have a ride too?"
Seth: smirk
How adorable that he has his future all planned out, even the girl he plans to run off with!
Last week at story time the firefighters were there with their truck and all the kids could walk through and see the truck and gear. Seth was very thrilled about it. Another conversation ensued while we were playing with some trucks.
Seth: "We need to buy a fire truck."
Mom: "You're right we don't have one do we."
Seth: "We need really big one like at larby." (Seth's way to say library.)
Mom: "Oh, I don't think we can afford one of those. They are really expensive."
Seth: "Just buy little fire truck, okay?" (using his cute "I'm just asking for something little" face that makes me want to run out and buy him the moon!)
Mom: "I think we could do that." Wondering what I just got myself into so qualified with, "We can look for one on sale sometime." (A mother's easy out, "It's not on sale we will have to wait until another time.")
What a cutie! I guess I should just be glad I get to be here for all these little moments even when the world is spinning by at a rapid rate. Motherhood is kind of that way. You have to slow it down or it will just vanish like the wind.
