Fourth of July Family Adventure

Our Fourth of July Family photo with proper attire for the celebration!

Every Fourth of July since Jason and I were married we have traveled to Nebraska to celebrate with family and friends. Now that Seth is older the trek is a bit more exciting, both in good ways and bad ways:

Some of the good:
1. Seth could enjoy Papa and Nana because he finally remembers who they are - usually he is shy for a day or so.
2. Seth really loves to play with his cousins!
3. There is a pool which Seth loves to "swim" in.

Seth was all sunglasses and swim trunks at the pool.

Some of the bad:
1. Leaving at 2 am in the morning expecting your son to sleep in the car can totally backfire and your son may go 18 hours with only one hour of sleep. Yikes - not recommended!
2. Sleeping in a different place can sometimes mean less sleep and therefore what we refer to as a "loopy" child.
3. Granparents are notorious for teaching your children about sugar which may lead to a very serious condition known as, "really big ham."

This is the "really big ham" after two bowls of homemade ice cream and strawberry sauce, both made with large amounts of sugar and very "yummy"!
