two worlds collide

Two worlds collide but how do we prevent two boys from colliding?!?

We moved into our home from a one bedroom apartment when Seth was fourteen or fifteen months old so the "nursery" stage was a bit late. However I wanted to use all the Classic Pooh items I had received at baby showers over a year earlier anyway. Thus I created the Pooh room knowing full well it would not last long. Now my Pooh nursery is getting a second run but with a whole new twist. Two worlds have collided as two boys will soon learn to share their space...

My steal of a deal secondhand Simmons crib with Pooh fixin's.

The Big Boy Bed with Cars plastered all over it.

Here is the shelf with Classic Pooh and Cars residing here and there and everywhere.

So when is a good time to join these two worlds permanently? Anyone have any advice? Eli is still waking up to eat much of the early hours of the morning. Most nights it is bed around 9 pm, awake to eat at 2 am and then again around 5 am and 7 am. Seth in bed around 7:30pm is up at 7am (and unfortunately wakes in the night once or twice himself) but that means a lot of interruptions still. Of course I would also have to walk down the hallway to actually get Eli and feed him. Right now he resides right next to me in the Pack n Play. Easy as you please but somehow still very exhausting.

I'd love to hear from those of you who have been there and done that...

I have learned over the course of 10 years and 4 children that whatever would be the easiest on me (the mom) is the best choice. If I were you, I'd wait until Eli sleeps through the night. This will lessen the chances of Seth waking up due to Eli. Unless Seth is a heavy sleeper. . . but I'd still wait until Eli sleeps through. My kids were all sleeping through the night by 6 or 10 weeks of age, even if it took longer, I'd have no problem waiting to "collide the two worlds." That's just my opinion, do what works best for you. ~Stacie Gus

Hey Mandy - we just decided to put our kids all in one room from the get go. Both Lily and Toby sleep through all the crying. We haven't had a problem yet. We did the same thing when we added Toby, too. Whatever works best for you, though. - Micah Thieszen
