The Apple Festival

Our future humble abode, if Seth gets his way. They say the women could keep the temperature at 70 degrees by using snow, straw and of course...the fire. I am not sure it is quite the arrangement I crave however.

Family weekend continues! Today we ventured to the Gibbs Museum for their annual Apple Festival. This place takes you back in time! We drove off a busy street and into the early 1900's where a hay ride was our mode of transportation, people cooked on fires and lived in tepees. It was pretty cool. Seth was enthralled and now plans for our family to move into a tepee after our house gets old. (Ha, ha...)

Seth did great at the hay bale maze. It was fun to watch him run around and be so excited to get through. I think it helped that they could see where they were going, but who knows the mind of a child?!

Seth was very intent on seeing it all from the hay ride, especially the John Deer tractor from the 1920's pulling us around.

Seth gave me a "cheese" while trying to call in Oreo, the goat while we were out in the orchard.

There were lots of activities and crafts to do. Seth and I raced through a game where we had to carry an apple on a wooden spoon, then sweep it across the ground with a broom and end the challenge with the apple between our knees. Seth vs. prego seemed almost fair...

A silly family photo while on the hay ride.
