Hot Poppyseed Bread

I love the smell of warm bread. I got this recipe from my friend at Westrum Wanderings. It is super yummy so you have to try it!

Poppyseed Bread

3 c. flour

2 ½ c. sugar

1 ½ t. salt

1 ½ t. baking powder

1 ½ c milk

1 c. oil

3 eggs

3 T poppyseeds

1 ½ t each vanilla, almond flavoring, and butter flavoring

Mix dry ingredients. Add milk, oil, and eggs with a fork. Add flavorings and poppyseeds. Pour into 2 large greesed loaf pans. Bake at 350 for 60-70 minutes. Cool 15-20 min and drizzle optional glaze over top.

Glaze:

¼ c. orange juice

¾ c. powdered sugar

½ t vanilla

½ t each almond flavoring and butter flavoring

Laura’s notes: I don’t use the butter flavoring—don’t have it and don’t feel it’s needed… I don’t often use the glaze—doesn’t need the extra sugar. And, it can be frozen once cooked and saved for another day.

I did not use the butter flavoring either and since I didn't have any orange juice made we skipped to glaze too. It was yummy all on its own!
