A Very Merry Christmas

The long awaited family photo! Not bad for an amateur photographer and her tri-pod.

Christmas comes three times each year in our family. One time with each set of grandparents and one time as our own family. Over the weekend we celebrated Christmas number two with J mom's family. We had a wonderful time and what a white Christmas it was too with six or so inches of snow falling throughout the day. Praise the Lord J took the day off from snow removal so we got to spend it all together.

The morning was massages at home for the girls while the boys went to Seven Corners Hardware store, Ace and of course out for coffee. Lunch was on the light side and then we took a variety of family photos. Something my family has not done in years so it was quite the adventure. Then it naps all around, well except for Seth but that's another story. The afternoon started with cider and watching parts of the movie Cars, particularly the tractor tipping scene over and over since that is Seth's favorite part. Then we read the Christmas story from the children's Bible and opened our presents. Play time was followed by our ham dinner with mashed potatoes, green beans, fresh pineapple, raspberry Jell-o salad and lefse (family tradition). It was absolutely wonderful!

Six inches of new snow and one huge pile of fun for all.

The J mom family is all smiles for this photo. Seth knows he's getting a reward for good behavior as I bribed him right off.

Seth with his Grandma and Gramps.

Seth and Auntie Jamey, she gets smiles for free by the way...

Look at the excitement on that face - a new floor puzzle with trucks on it!

Grandma and Gramps came through with some much needed art supplies to use at home.

Aunt Jamey came through with some goldfish crackers - always a winner.

From the looks of it this will be a new favorite toy in Seth's collection: a Tele-crane.

Thanks to the whole family for making it such a special weekend! We had a great time and the memories will be with us forever.

Mandy - glad I could be a part of your Christmas day. :) What a sweet mom you have to give you girls an extra present.
I didn't know you make lefse! My mom and I do also every holiday. Do you have the traditional rolling pin, stick, and everything?

My sister is three years younger than me but we have looked alike since our college years it seems. Kind of fun...
