Seth has been asking when we were going to go for a "boat ride" and the day has finally come. The weather was sunny, not too hot, and not too windy for a paddle on Lake Johanna. We had a great time getting into our gear and reminding Seth about the canoe. He loves that fact that he has a small paddle he can hold in the water. Now if we could just teach him how to use it for something other than a rudder pulling us into troubled waters, that would be even better.
On our paddle we saw a family of turtles, geese and goslings, ducks, an otter and tons of sun fish. Seth was hoping to see a walleye or pike, we had no luck. No surprise to us, but Seth was very disappointed that they were "hiding" from us. Jason plucked a baby turtle out of the water to show Seth and he about jumped out of the boat so we now know that the wildlife need to stay in the wild!
Praise the Lord for summer and a chance to get back into some of Minnesota's great lakes!

I have great memories of canoeing with my family. It's so cool you can give Seth those memories too!
