The Zoo with Mom

Sometimes Seth and I need to get out of our ordinary routine. Going to the Como Zoo on a day where potential downpour is possible seemed to do just that. However Friday morning's diversion from the ordinary was a success and a lot of fun for both of us.

The best time of the day to go is right when they open at 10 am. They tend to feed the monkey's at that time so you get to see them up close and in action, as opposed to sleeping and totally boring in the afternoon! In fact today the animals were so close we saw corn stuck in a monkey's teeth! It was crazy and fun. I wish Seth enjoyed sitting still so I could watch a little longer. His was to see the zoo is go from one animal area to the next as fast as possible. He actually runs while we are outside. Maybe that had something to do with the cold wind and chance of rain?!

The best part of it all? They are started to renovate for the new Polar Bear exhibit which opens in 2010. There are excavators and bulldozers and all sorts of BOY stuff around to watch. We got so close it was crazy. I almost wondered if I should wear a hard had too.

Isn't Seth's rain coat adorable? I love it! I also love M&M's which are the highlight of the mommy picture below: the People Feeding Station. (No we didn't buy anything, just stole a photo op.)
