It's A Jungle

Seth is practicing for his version of March Madness...

Without story time at the Library today, Seth and I were up for a new adventure. We decided to go check out the Parent and Tot Play Time at the North Dale Recreation Center. There is no cost and we could spend the whole morning riding trikes, playing catch, or just running around for free in the gym. Seth got into it right away wanting to play basketball, of course they only had the regulation style hoops so he was way out of his league, but he tried his hardest anyway.

After about 30 minutes or so the real crowd showed up and things got a bit wild. Seth took a break and we sat on the bleachers with a snack. I counted about 23 adults and 50 plus kids under the age of 5. This, in my opinion, constitutes a zoo! (Though another parent told me it was a slow day...) It was wild with kids all over the place and some about half way up the walls. Whole daycare centers arrived to get in on the play time! I thought to myself for a moment how wonderful it is to have one child to keep track of. A gymnasium is a "BIG" place, as Seth said when we arrived. I wouldn't want to lose sight of my mommy...

Seth and I found some friends we recognized and got back into the action but at this point, with so many kids, I think he just got overwhelmed. After trying to get a chance to go down the slide to no avail, he came over to me and said, "home." I'm no idiot, I took him home right away. It was about time to make lunch anyway. I figure if we get another chance to go to the gym we will, but I think we would both rather just go to our park down the block. I guess that means we need some sunshine and warmer weather though.

OH, when the daycares get there Ayden gets mad. There are just too many people there then. But they don't aways go, kinda hit or miss.
